The Pilgrim's EgressAnne's Kiss |
As Thad and Anne continued to walk they would talk for hours. On more than one occasion Anne would talk for hours while Thad simply listened. Anne seemed to have this amazing ability to switch from talking about the various adventures of the many members of her extended family, to subjects that Thad would expect more from the girl in black, back to mundane details of her day all in the same seemingly long run-on sentence. Thad could not deny that when Anne's conversation turned more toward physical pleasure he would grow excited and then quite frustrated as Anne just as quickly changed the subject.
The weather was growing more fair as the days progressed. Anne said to Thad "The spring is here, soon will be my birthday. Soon I'd like you to show me what the girl in black showed you." Soon enough the day came and Anne led Thad off the path into the woods. Again Thad felt the pleasure he'd missed since fleeing the girl in black, but it was more. Much more. The pleasure was not only physical but mental and emotional. Thad could almost say it was spiritual. Thad had no idea that pleasure could penetrate that many layers of a persons being. Anne looked at Thad smiling and slowly brought her head to his shoulder, and as Thad felt her kiss his neck, we was overcome by weakness and fell asleep.
When he awoke he still felt weak. Anne on the other hand was sitting beside him looking quite strong and very pleased. Thad said that he was glad to hear that and started looking through his supplies for something to eat. He was suddenly extremely hungry. |
