My Poems - 1989

My Lady Catherine

When I saw my Lady Catherine
across that very large room,.
the beauty that I'd never seen
released from me all my gloom.

My Lady Catherine turned to me,
and still she did not know me.
For she had not noticed me there,
my soul yearning to be free.

When I met my Lady Catherine,
in the corner of the halls,
her smile filled me with such a joy.
I heard emotional calls.

My Lady Catherine spoke to me,
seeming to start loving me.
Her angelic voice caressed
my heart and soul equally.

I loved my Lady Catherine
from the moment I saw her,
but I did not act on it,
because I didst fear failure.

Lady Catherine visited me.
I felt so awkward with her there.
We talked and laughed, yet I trembled.
She will never, my heart, spare.

I wrote my Lady Catherine
a sweet poem from my heart
it indirectly stated
how I felt when we depart.

My Lady Catherine stared at me
with uncertaintly in her eye.
She said "I can not love you."
I felt I was goin gto die

I said "Why can't you love me?"
with tears flowing down my face.
She said "I'm scared to love you."
I screamed, and fled from that place.

My Lord did die that awful day,
because of my accursed fright,
and now the nights seem much too dark
and day will never be as bright.
