O what on Earth does it take,
to give me courage to speak?
I would have spoken that night,
but my soul was far too weak.
If only I could tell her
what is really on my mind.
I'd know what she thinks of me
instead of being so blind.
I have shown her the poem
that I wrote the other night.
I did not say it was her
for I nearly died of fright.
So I stood inside her room
wearing a mask o'er my tears.
I could not say "I love you."
ifor I could not calm my fears.
I fear if I don't speak soon,
I shall lose her forever.
I wonder if she loves me
or if she'll love me never.
